Since 1994, the Loveflowers team has delighted in creating unique wedding flowers which reflect each bride’s individual style and personality. This is our story...
Originally specialising in fresh wedding flowers in our local area for several years, we then launched our first website in 1999. Shortly we were overwhelmed by enquiries from interstate and overseas brides as well. It was an honour to know that so many felt a connection with the soft and pretty style which has become the Loveflowers hallmark. Many wanted to know where they could find a florist in their area who could provide the same styling and attention to detail. While we were happy to provide referrals where possible, we did wonder how we could provide more assistance to these brides-to-be.
By 2001, we were intrigued to see new developments in manufacturing of silk flowers. Botanical accuracy improved significantly in the expanding higher end of the market; many products needing close inspection to differentiate them from those made by Mother Nature. Silk flowers were finally coming of age and it occurred to us that select lines were wedding-worthy. With the rise in popularity of destination weddings and other situations where non-perishable flowers are "better than fresh", we finally saw a way to realise our dream of providing quality wedding flowers to brides all over the world. After months of product and web development, the new concept was launched - the first silk wedding flower service online in Australia. We've hardly stopped to take a breath since!
We take great care in sourcing the most attractive and natural-looking flowers. These are no ordinary silk flowers; not like those found in craft or homewares stores. To be selected, a flower (or foliage) must be "botanical quality", made with beautifully accurate form, detail and colour. Equally important to the selection process, but more difficult to define, is determining which flower truly captures the essence of the bloom it represents.
From these carefully-selected flowers we create a variety of unique collections with their own specially blended fragrances. A simple shopping basket system operates so that you can select your wedding flowers and have them delivered months ahead of your wedding date.
In early 2009 our gorgeous e-book The Wedstyle Guide was launched. This was the result of many years collecting hundreds of tips and handy ideas, and inspiration from our (then) 3,500+ brides. Already a runaway success, our current brides are telling us the "wedstyle" approach to wedding planning is giving them the confidence to celebrate their weddings, their way.
What's next? Well, frequent visitors to the site will have noticed our Collections dwindling recently - in fact there's barely anything left! You may have also noticed the style revamp. This all paves the way for the second stage of our website relaunch. It's all Secret Squirrel at the moment, but later this year the Collections will disappear, replaced with a completely new system of designing and ordering wedding flowers, a much wider range of flowers to choose from and unlimited options for our brides. We're very excited about this new development, frustrated by how long the programming is taking, but ultimately it will be all worth the wait. Our aim is to make our brides feel like children let loose in a lolly shop, surrounded by a huge array of colour and choice! All without the sugar high, then the crash and burn afterwards of course.
